Blocked drains and recurring odours in a care home aren't just an operational inconvenience – they represent a genuine compliance exposure. Under the Water Industry Act 1991, the Environmental Protection Act 1990, and food hygiene legislation covering England and Scotland, care home operators are responsible for preventing fats, oils, and grease (FOG) from entering the sewer network, maintaining drainage in a hygienic condition, and avoiding blockages or damage to pipework. These are ongoing duties, not reactive ones.
PlatinumEco Probiotic Drain Cleaner & Maintainer takes a different approach to drain maintenance. Where chemical alternatives temporarily clear a blockage, this concentrate uses naturally occurring bacterial spores and enzymes to digest fats, grease, proteins, starches, and other organic matter at source. The bacteria continue working after application – drains remain free-flowing, traps stay clear, and malodours are eliminated rather than masked. It's effective across kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, and sluice rooms, wherever organic build-up accumulates. Documented within your HACCP and cleaning plans, it gives you an audit-ready approach you can evidence at inspection.

Instructions for Use
- Use 2 hours after the end of the working day, after liquid flow from the drain system is over.
- Manual dosing: Pour directly into drains, small bore pipes, and sinks (outlets and overflows). For grease traps, pour into the nearest access point upstream from the trap, followed by 1 litre of water.
- Automatic dosing: Calculate daily dose according to the volume of the grease trap or length of pipe run.
